The best tour we have ever been on in the world..ever!...Cyril was fantastic, he made us feel very welcome and it was more like a friend taking us on a tour than a guide...we will be back for more!!!! Ian and Jane, Manchester, England
This was the highlight of our 4 country European trip. Our guide, Kaska, was great. Her knowledge of Nowa Huta outstanding. If we return we will do it again. Thanks for your "off the beaten path" tour.
Had a great time on our tour last week - probably the best we've been on anywhere! Really got a feel for the Nowa Huta of the past. Great guide, great car, great time! Only regret is that we didnt do the longer tour! Thanks again!
Wiktor as my guide. What a superb guy. His knowledge of all things art surrounding the cultural history of Nova Huta must be unmatched. If Gramsci was still alive I would recommend he gets in a Crazy Guides Trabant and does a tour of Nova Huta !
We had a brilliant tour today with Cyril and Lukasz. We learnt a lot about the history of Communism in Poland and it was particularly interesting hearing from people who experienced the regime. Both guys were very patient in answering all of our questions and showing us the sights. I would definitely recommend this to anyone visiting Krakow: we learnt more in 3 hours on this tour than from anything else we have done. Thanks again for a great experience. Not so sure about the plum vodka though!!
Great tour yesterday, will book a tour for all of my friends and family as they come to visit me here!
I was rather curious to see, what a 'crazy tour' to Nowa Huta would offer apart from being another guided tour. Most probably the crazy guides were also curious about our group - the Stuttgarter Oratorienchor, a choir usually performing masses and oratorios by Bach, Mozart, Hummel or Dvořák. How would our ‘serious’ choir match with ‘crazy’? Being driven in Trabis, a Lada and an old polish van (now a crazy party bus) we quickly learned how a car race feels, when you are crammed into a Trabi. Eryk, Victor and Pete gave as an informative and at the same time ironic insight into the communist ideals to be realised in Nowa Huta, socialist planning of everyday life and the final outcomes. The choir was so impressed that it couldn’t but perform 'Gaude Mater Polonia', the old Polish hymn once created in Kraków, in front of the former Vladimir Lenin Steelworks. It was a great experience – thank you, guys!
Second time on the tour for both of us and without a doubt Crazy Java was the best guide we have had... As well as knowing his stuff about communism you can also encounter him at the best kebab stands and watering holes that Krakow has to offer at 1 in the morning! Fun times.
Had a great tour wih Kaska and Victor! Vodka, driving Trabants, pickled vegetables, excellent lunch in the Milk Bar - what more could you ask for? Will certainly do this again when we're next in Krakow. Next time we have got to meet the famous Mr. V!
It is even better second time around. We brought our friends along and they didn't shut up about it afterwards. Eric was great on the second take, enthusiastic, genuine, friendly and just too damn lovable, 'Strawberry' (ha ha... Sorry K!) was brill too, even with a hangover... She has the best sound system I've ever seen. We're now home and ripping out the player and speakers from our car to put in a Fisher Price tape machine linked to a Shuffle which hangs off a Magic Tree... Absolute Genius. Thanks again for a great time guys... Can't wait to the third time around... Keep the cars running and save us a shot...
